Neil Abramson is the co-chair of the Labor & Employment Law Department and leads the Public Sector Group. His practice covers a wide range of employment litigation, including discrimination, breach of contract, and claims related to collective bargaining relationships. He also represents clients in arbitrations, administrative proceedings, and collective bargaining negotiations.
Neil frequently manages complex collective bargaining disputes for both private and public sector employers. He litigates before the New York State Public Employment Relations Board, various arbitration panels, private grievance arbitrators, and the National Labor Relations Board. Notably, Neil oversees the legal representation of the Metropolitan Transportation Authority in its collective bargaining disputes with transit and railroad workers and represents the City of New York in disputes with teachers, police, firefighters, nurses, and hospital staff. He also advises multiemployer bargaining associations and individual employers, including Major League Baseball, The League of Voluntary Hospitals, The New York Times, Pratt Institute, and The Broadway League.
In addition to representing clients in state and federal courts in New York and beyond, Neil has extensive appellate advocacy experience. He provides strategic advice to employers, helping them avoid litigation and achieve employee relations goals. His clients span various industries, including financial services, higher education, news media, transportation, sports, energy, entertainment, and healthcare, as well as public benefit and public service corporations.
