Michael is a partner at Berkman Bottger Newman & Schein LLP, specializing in Matrimonial and Family Law since 1997. He has extensive experience assisting high-net-worth individuals with complex issues related to equitable distribution, child support, spousal maintenance, and contested custody cases. Known for his patience and skill, Michael prioritizes swift resolutions through negotiation but is prepared to pursue litigation and trial if necessary. He has also presented oral arguments before the Appellate Division, Second Department.
Before joining Berkman Bottger Newman & Schein, Michael was a partner at a prestigious boutique Matrimonial and Family Law firm. In April 2018, he was appointed a Fellow of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers (AAML), an esteemed organization with around 1,650 members nationwide, including approximately 165 in New York. Additionally, he was selected as a barrister for the New York Family Law American Inns of Court.
Michael has dedicated time to mentor law students at Touro Law School, serving as a Moot Court Judge for the Bainbridge Moot Court Competition from 2008 to 2010 and again in 2012 and 2014. He has also lectured on Matrimonial and Family Law topics for the Nassau County Bar Association.
