Mike Considine is a partner in the Litigation & Investigations Group and the Government Enforcement and Internal Investigations Group at the firm. Before joining private practice, he was Deputy Chief of the Long Island Offices of the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of New York, where he oversaw numerous criminal investigations and handled trials and appeals.
Mike represents individuals and companies during government investigations conducted by agencies such as the DOJ, SEC, EPA, and OFAC, as well as in internal inquiries. His work spans various industries, including financial services, shipping, pharmaceuticals, and manufacturing, involving allegations related to the FCPA, securities laws, antitrust issues, and environmental and tax regulations.
He has frequently been appointed as an independent monitor under agreements with federal agencies like the DOJ, SEC, and EPA, focusing on the implementation of compliance programs and monitoring adherence to settlement terms. Additionally, Mike helps develop compliance programs to mitigate significant risks, including third-party FCPA violations.
After earning his degrees from Boston College and Georgetown University Law Center, Mike clerked for U.S. District Judge Shirley Wohl Kram in the Southern District of New York. He is currently on the Executive Committee of the Federal Bar Council and has been consistently recognized in the legal field, including listings in Chambers USA (2024), The Best Lawyers in America for White Collar Criminal Defense (2010-2021), and Super Lawyers (2006-2023).
As a prolific writer and speaker, Mike has presented at numerous conferences and authored many articles on relevant legal topics, particularly in corporate compliance.
