Graham T. Coates is an attorney specializing in energy, environmental, and public utility law at Holland & Knight’s New York office. He provides representation and guidance to independent power producers, utilities, power suppliers, project developers, and financial institutions on regulatory issues and commercial transactions related to the financing, development, and operation of energy infrastructure in the United States.
Mr. Coates has extensive experience in both renewable and non-renewable energy sectors, including wind, solar, fuel cell, combined heat and power, geothermal, liquefied natural gas, biomass, and traditional fossil fuel electric generation. His project development expertise encompasses negotiating power purchase agreements, offtake and sales agreements, EPC contracts, operation and maintenance agreements, as well as obtaining environmental permits and public financing for energy projects. He has also assisted clients in the acquisition and sale of energy assets through various M&A transactions.
Additionally, Mr. Coates is knowledgeable in federal and state public utility regulation and energy policy.
