David J. Furman is a partner at Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher’s New York office, specializing in real estate capital markets, financing, acquisitions and dispositions, joint ventures, debt restructurings, and leasing.

His clients include notable entities like J.P. Morgan Chase & Co. and Investcorp, with over $1 billion in real estate transactions completed in the past year across various U.S. regions.
He is also experienced in Islamic finance, developing real estate products compliant with Islamic law, such as ijara and murabaha structures.
Mr. Furman actively represents commercial buyers, sellers, and developers in diverse property sectors, including office, industrial, multifamily, and student housing projects.
A committed alumnus, he is the National Chair of the Cornell Law School Annual Fund and serves on its Advisory Council. He earned his Juris Doctor from Cornell Law School in 1986 and a joint BA/MA from the University of Pennsylvania in 1983.
