David Slutsky earned his B.S. from the State University of New York at Binghamton in 1995 and his J.D. from George Washington University Law School in 1998. He joined Levy Ratner in 1999 after completing a one-year post-graduate fellowship in the legal department of the Service Employees International Union in Washington, D.C. Slutsky represents labor unions and individual employees across various sectors, including healthcare, utilities, hospitality, financial services, retail, and the public sector. His practice encompasses all aspects of labor and employment law, including litigation in federal and state courts, representation in unfair labor practice proceedings before the NLRB, and state agencies such as PERB (NY), PERC (NJ), and OCB (NYC). He is experienced in arbitration proceedings and collective bargaining negotiations.
Additionally, Slutsky provides guidance to unions during organizing drives, including corporate campaigns, and advises labor unions and nonprofit organizations on First Amendment activities and injunction actions, representing clients in federal court on these issues. He also collaborates with the Center for Constitutional Rights as a cooperating attorney.
Slutsky has led workshops at regional and national legal conferences focused on litigation skills, such as “Taking and Defending Depositions: A Simulation.” He conducts training sessions for union organizers on various legal topics and skills development.
