Allyson L. Belovin has dedicated her career to advocating for the rights of working people, representing labor unions and individuals in various aspects of labor and employment law. She handles cases in state and federal courts, as well as before agencies such as the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB), the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC), and the New York City and State Human Rights Commissions. Allyson skillfully represents clients in arbitration cases and has extensive experience negotiating collective bargaining agreements for thousands of workers across multiple industries, including healthcare, utilities, cultural organizations, legal services, sports, entertainment, and more.
Allyson also represents unions and candidates in internal matters like union officer elections. In her representation of individuals, she litigates discrimination claims involving race, gender, equal pay, disability, First Amendment rights, and wage and hour issues under federal, state, and local laws. She also assists executives, professionals, and other white-collar employees in negotiating employment agreements, addressing non-compete clauses, confidentiality agreements, and non-solicitation provisions.
As an influential voice in labor law, Allyson serves as a chapter editor for The Developing Labor Law, is on the Editorial Board of Law360, and has been part of the Board of Editors for the renowned treatise How To Take A Case Before The NLRB. She co-chairs the Labor Relations Committee of the NYSBA Labor & Employment Section, is a member of the Advisory Board of the Center for Labor and Employment Law at NYU Law School, and is a Fellow of the College of Labor and Employment Lawyers.
