Maura Douglas assists clients in navigating government and regulatory litigation, investigations, and strategic response matters, with a particular focus on workplace misconduct issues. She represents a diverse array of clients, including higher education institutions, major financial organizations, healthcare companies, and global technology firms. In her government investigations practice, she defends public and private entities, as well as individuals, facing inquiries from the U.S. Department of Justice, Securities and Exchange Commission, state attorneys general, and Congress, in addition to federal and state litigation.
In her internal review and strategic response work, Ms. Douglas helps clients evaluate and manage legal and reputational risks during potential crises, addressing issues related to anti-discrimination, employment, privacy, and content moderation.
Ms. Douglas is also actively involved in pro bono work, focusing on voting rights and reproductive rights.
Before joining WilmerHale, she worked in the litigation department of another international law firm and clerked for the Honorable William F. Kuntz of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of New York. Prior to law school, Ms. Douglas served as a corps member with Teach for America.
