Ehud Barak specializes in representing both debtors and creditors, including creditors’ committees and investors in complex distressed situations. He provides counsel to a wide range of clients involved in Chapter 11 cases, out-of-court restructurings, and bankruptcy litigation, including appeals.
Ehud is currently a key figure in representing the Financial Oversight and Management Board of Puerto Rico as it manages the restructuring of over $70 billion in debt. He played a pivotal role in the $6 billion Title VI restructuring of the Governmental Development Bank’s debt and is overseeing the restructuring of more than $8 billion in debt from Puerto Rico’s electric utility.
Recognized as a “Rising Star” by New York Super Lawyers in 2019 and 2020, Ehud has been invited as a panelist at the ABA-NCBJA Conference for several years. He co-chairs the ABA’s Business Bankruptcy Committee’s Mass Torts and Environmental Subcommittee and contributes to drafting complex Chapter 11 local rules as a member of the SDTX committee.
Before practicing law in the United States, Ehud worked at one of Israel’s leading law firms, where he focused on handling complex commercial litigation cases.
