Partner Robb Fox has a multifaceted practice that encompasses compliance counseling, litigation, and transactional work for clients in the waste, chemical manufacturing, and development sectors, as well as for cities and municipalities. He is recognized nationally for his expertise in federal Superfund law, having managed numerous high-profile Superfund cases, including the Keystone Landfill matter, which was featured on 60 Minutes, as well as the Gowanus Canal and Newtown Creek sites. Robb frequently litigates Superfund issues of first impression at both trial and appellate levels across various jurisdictions.
His litigation experience covers superfund cost recovery, class action lawsuits, and toxic tort defense, including trials and appeals before federal and state courts and administrative tribunals. Additionally, he represents local, regional, and national clients concerning the environmental aspects of business transactions. His work ranges from redeveloping brownfields—having contributed to the drafting of the 2002 brownfields amendment to the federal Superfund law—to managing environmental liabilities in the acquisition and divestiture processes of multinational corporations.
Robb served as the firm’s Managing Partner from 2007 to 2014. He has been recognized as the “Philadelphia Area Best Lawyers Environmental Lawyer of the Year” for both environmental law in 2019 and 2010, and for environmental litigation in 2012.
Beyond his legal career, Robb has a variety of personal interests. He is a competitive tennis player, an avid Phillies fan, and enjoys cooking. In 2012, he was named Top Chef in a competition among Philadelphia lawyers. He is married to his high school sweetheart and has two daughters and three grandchildren.
