Marco Caffuzzi has been part of Skadden’s Real Estate Group since 1996, focusing on various real estate matters such as acquisitions, dispositions, development projects, joint ventures, leasing, and financing, including loan restructurings and workouts.
His development-related work includes significant projects such as:
- Advising Silverstein Properties on the redevelopment of the World Trade Center and several joint ventures in both Europe and Orlando.
- Working with Two Trees Management on various developments, including a vintage carousel for Brooklyn Bridge Park and a middle school facility for the NYC Department of Education.
- Assisting Howard Hughes Corporation with the redevelopment of the South Street Seaport.
- Guiding Mercedes-Benz Manhattan on a build-to-suit showroom and a related 1031 Exchange.
- Advising the Port Authority on a new railroad tunnel project from New Jersey to New York’s Pennsylvania Station.
Mr. Caffuzzi’s experience also includes transactions involving major corporations like Sony Corporation, Felcor Lodging Trust, and Boston Properties. Notable recent transactions include:
- Representing Sony in the $1.1 billion sale of its U.S. headquarters at 550 Madison Avenue.
- Advising Felcor Lodging on acquiring a landmark building for a high-end hotel development.
- Assisting Boston Properties in selling a 49% interest in Times Square Tower.
- Working with Mercedes-Benz North America on the sale of its former showroom in Manhattan.
