Matt Benjamin is a partner at Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher in New York, actively involved in various practice groups, including General Commercial Litigation, White Collar Defense and Investigations, Crisis Management, and Privacy, Cybersecurity, and Data Innovation. He has also participated in the firm’s Hiring, Diversity, and Community Affairs Committees.

- Office of the Governor of New Jersey: Led an internal investigation into allegations regarding the George Washington Bridge toll lane realignment, producing a comprehensive report.
- DraftKings: Assisted in an internal investigation and defense against multiple criminal and regulatory actions related to gaming laws.
With expertise in federal sentencing law, Matt was appointed to the United States Sentencing Commission’s Practitioners Advisory Group and the Federal Bar Council’s Committee on Sentencing and Alternatives to Incarceration. He has published extensively on federal sentencing policies and contributes to the ABA’s treatise on the Federal Sentencing Guidelines.
A graduate of New York University School of Law (2006) and Yale College (2003), Matt has also clerked for a U.S. District Court judge.
